Sustainable aluminium cladding with character

KOER Rotterdam is a sustainable urban development where living, working, and social interaction come together in a green and future-oriented environment. Within this project, Villa Residu stands out as a remarkable residential building developed with a strong focus on circularity and material reuse. The building demonstrates how sustainable materials and high-quality architecture can successfully go hand in hand.

For Villa Residu, Roba Metals supplied high-quality aluminium 5005 to B+K Alusystemen BV. B+K powder coated the aluminium and fabricated it into cassettes and custom-formed components. The aluminium elements were applied to the building’s façade cladding, fascia boards, and ceilings.

A key feature of Villa Residu is the use of 100% recycled aluminium. By choosing circular aluminium, the project’s environmental impact and CO₂ emissions were significantly reduced without compromising on quality, durability, or design flexibility. The material contributes to the building’s contemporary appearance while supporting its ambitious sustainability goals. Thanks to aluminium’s excellent properties, the architectural details could be executed with precision, resulting in a façade that is both aesthetically striking and future-proof.
